A late 18th Century oak 8-day striking longcase clock. 13-inch square brass Roman dial engraved by a seconds ring and date aperture, the trunk with long shaped rectangular door flanked by quarter-cut fluted pilasters, the base with canted corners and applied panels, raised on ogee bracket feet, 221cm high.

M Thomas Caernarfon

A very good example of a much underated 18th century clockmaker from North Wales, a brass face arch dial delicately engraved, signed 'M Thomas Caernarfon' to the arch. 8 day 4 pillar movement, good steel hands. The oak case having architectural hood, tapering wooden turned pillars, shell fruitwood inlay at the door and base, long crossbanded oak door and case, stood on solid plinth base. The movement serviced and running very well in the showroom.
A pleasing well proportioned welsh provincial clock.

Fine Manchester clock. An 18th Century mahogany 8 day arched brass dial moon phase longcase clock (John Lees Middleton) ca 1790

A fine and attractive solid mahogany 8 day moon phase longcase clock signed John Lees of Middleton. The dial unusually a composite of brass and painted landscape, silvered chapter ring. The case of swan neck pediment and shaped cushion moulding to the door, wonderful flame mahogany timbers throughought, shaped cantered corner base over shaped ogee moulding. A very pleasing well proportioned clock. Movement guaranteed, overseen and cleaned by our clock restorer, keeping time and running well in our showroom. Delivery and set up arranged nationwide.

Fine 18th Century Brass Face Moon Phase Liverpool Longcase Clock With Finely Engraved Liver Bird

A very pleasing immaculate mahogany arch dial brass face longcase clock, signed 'Hadwen of Liverpool'. Arched hood over gilded blue glass panel, moon phase with beautifully engraved centre, complete with liver bird motif. A very good movement keeping perfect time with sweep second and even original hand beaten pendulum and brass cased weights. The case of good thick bookmatched figured mahogany, long crossbanded door over a cantered base.(some minor shrinkage of timbers apparent-see photo) Isaac Hadwen is recorded as working in Liverpool ca 1775.



Good 18th Century 8 day early Wilson dial oak inlaid longcase clock, Taverner Coleshill (Midlands)
A good clean 8 day painted dial with interesting oak inlaid case of good height. Movement fully serviced. Eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve-inch painted arched dial with black roman numerals, arabic five-minute markings, a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, decorative blued steel hands and gilt rococo-style corner spandrels repeated to the arch either side of a cartouche painted with the maker’s name ‘John Taverner, Coleshill’, the rear of the dial scratched ‘Taverner Fecit, July 24 1778’.
*although no John Taverner is recorded at Coleshill, Warwickshire, a William Taverner is known to have been working there in the early 19th century. Dimensions: 209cm

An understated pleasing clock with good unusual movement which strikes at the half hour and hour. Superb fine brass cased weights regulator pulleys and good brass pendulum.
